If you want to detox toxins from the breast tissue and protect yourself against breast cancer, you’ve come to the right place. Below are simple tips for a basic approach.

According to BreastCancer.org, 1 in every 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer during her lifetime. And while it may be scary to realize that "85% of breast cancers occur in women who have no family history of breast cancer," this also spotlights that there are environmental and lifestyle factors that play a role.

In this article, we will discuss the causes and symptoms of breast cancer, as well as three tips to reduce your breast cancer risks, including how to naturally remove toxins from breast tissue.

Causes and Symptoms of Breast Cancer

Causes

Breast cancer (and any health issue) results from many factors that are not even entirely understood. However, risk factors have been identified. Some are beyond our control—such as gender, age, race, and family history. However, there are other factors that we can control or improve—such as your diet, weight, and exercise regimen. For example, regular exercise has been shown to lower the risk of developing breast cancer. The American Cancer Society recommends engaging in 45-60 minutes of physical exercise at least 5 days per week.

In addition, reducing toxic exposures also helps. Did you know that many toxic self-care, beauty, and other products are made of fossil fuel-based ingredients that tend to contain hormone disrupting chemicals, carcinogens, and heavy metals? There are simple ways you can reduce your exposures to them. For example, avoiding "fragrance" can serve as an effective filter. While not all fragrance is toxic, it's hard to know which ones are safe.

Breast Cancer Symptoms

Some early warning signs of breast cancer include skin changes, such as swelling and redness, change in breast size or shape, and lumps or nodes felt inside the breast. Remember that other—more benign—conditions can also cause similar symptoms. Talk to your doctor if you notice any of these symptoms or other sudden changes in your breast shape, size, color, or feel.

How to Remove Toxins from Breast Tissue (Naturally)

While there are limitations with what can be done naturally, some simple approaches can help without posing harm. A few suggestions are below.

1. Cleanse the lymphatic system

The lymphatic system is a network of organs and tissues that transports lymph, a fluid containing infection-fighting white blood cells, throughout the body. If the lymphatic system becomes congested, it cannot remove the toxins and waste from our body.

How to cleanse the lymphatic system

Gentle stimulation of the lymphatic system can help improve its effectiveness. Dry brushing is an excellent and safe way to stimulate the lymphatic system and exfoliate.

Other simple home remedies that can help are below.

  • Drink small sips of hot water throughout the day to keep the lymphatic system working properly
  • Avoid using conventional antiperspirants, which may congest your lymphatic system
  • Detox your personal care items to practical nontoxic versions
  • Be mindful of how much plastic you use
  • Beware that changes in temperature can facilitate the leaching of toxic chemicals from the plastics into your food

More indulgent is a gentle lymphatic massage, which can help cleanse the lymphatic system. You can find a certified massage practitioner, or search YouTube for self-massage videos to learn how to cleanse the lymphatic system yourself. Also, depending on where you live, you may also be able to get an electromagnetic lymph therapy treatment to speed up the toxin and waste removal.

2. Consider castor oil packs

Castor oil packs have long been revered as an inexpensive—yet effective—home remedy for detoxing the gastrointestinal track, rebooting the liver, and rejuvenating the immune system. They are believed by some to have the ability to reduce inflammation in the body, including breast tissue. However, talk to your doctor first. For example, those who have certain gastrointestinal or skin issues, or heavy menstrual cycles should maybe avoid them. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid using castor oil packs!

How to use castor oil packs

You can purchase these ingredients online or from your local health food store. Look for: therapeutic grade castor oil, cold-pressed, without hexane, pesticide-free, organic, non-hybridized, free of preservatives and additives, non-solvent extracted, unrefined, non-deodorized.

Be sure to cover the lymph node area by the armpits when administering castor oil packs to your breast tissue.

3. Improve your diet

Your diet is one of the most important tools for detoxifying the body and protecting it against breast cancer. One book that transformed how I viewed diet's influence on cancer and other chronic diseases is The China Study. It discusses the results of hundreds of vetted scientific studies. For simple tips on a cancer-fighting diet, read on.

How to improve your diet to promote an anti-cancer environment in your body

  • Eat plenty of vegetables and fruit (at least 5 cups per day)

  • Consume foods which are high in Omega-3 fatty acids

  • Avoid trans fats and processed foods

  • Try to limit your saturated fat intake to 30 grams per day

Specific foods to include in your diet:

  • Use 1 teaspoon of dried ginger daily to kill cancer stem cells

  • Consume grapefruit regularly to aid the cleansing of the lymphatic system

  • Add organic broccoli to your diet to block tumor growth

  • Eat beets several times per week to keep your cells oxygenated

  • Include artichokes in your diet to boost liver function and ward off the replication of cancer cells

  • Eat fiber-rich foods, such as beans, to pull excess estrogen out of your system

Final Thoughts

While breast cancer results from several factors that we both can and cannot control, some natural approaches can help you both defend against toxic exposures and safely release toxic chemicals from your body. However, the safest approach is to avoid your unnecessary toxic exposures. You can reduce your risks for breast cancer by reducing your body burden of toxic substances and boosting your body's natural immunity.
