Sophia invited the leading innovators of 2017 to share the perspectives, mindset, and values that drove their pioneering paths.

Dr. Frank Lipman

Dr. Frank Lipman, a pioneer in both integrative and functional medicine, is the founder and director of Eleven Eleven Wellness Center in New York City, a New York Times best-selling author, and the founder of Be Well, a lifestyle brand that offers premium supplements, cleanse programs and personalized health coaching to help people achieve genuine and sustainable life changes.

Melanie Whelan

Melanie Whelan is the Chief Executive Officer of SoulCycle. Prior to SoulCycle, Melanie worked at Equinox and Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group.

Melanie was named one of Fortune’s 40 Under 40 in 2015, Crain's New York 40 Under 40 in 2016, and Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business in 2017.

Melanie graduated from Brown University with a degree in Engineering and Economics.

Melisse Gelula

Melisse Gelula is Co-founder and Chief Content Officer of Well+Good.

WellandGood.com reaches more than 5 million monthly readers and is the recipient of the 2016 Webby Award for Best Lifestyle Site (People’s Voice). Melisse is responsible for spearheading Well+Good's best-in-class content across editorial, video, social media, and branded content. She is a nationally recognized expert on wellness trends and natural beauty and has been featured as an industry expert on CBS This Morning, in the New York Times, and more.

Melisse has an MA from the University of Toronto and has completed six years of training as a psychoanalyst. Prior to Well+Good, Melisse was Editor In Chief of SpaFinderLifestyle.com.

Abby Levy

Abby Levy is president o Thrive Global.

Prior to this, she was a consultant to consumer product and digital media businesses, advising them on product and marketing strategies. From startups to multinationals, Abby supported clients including Hearst Media, LeagueApps, LittlePim, LiveAuctioneers, MindBody, Seedling, SideTour (now part of Groupon), Synapse, and several startups pre-launch. Prior to working for herself, Abby was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company’s Innovation Practice and a Product Manager then Category Director at OXO International, a high growth consumer products company best known for the GoodGrips brand of kitchen tools. At OXO, Abby ran new product category development, responsible for launching over 50 products from concept, design, and manufacturing to sales and product marketing.

Abby began her career at McKinsey, first as a Business Analyst in their New York Office, and was then promoted to an Associate position, working in the London Office. Abby earned her B.A. with Honors from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and earned her M.B.A. with Distinction from Harvard Business School.

Gregory H. GushƩe

Gregory H. Gushée is an Executive Vice President of Related Companies. Mr. Gushée has been part of the New York Development team at Related since 1997 and specializes in developments in New York City.

Mr. Gushée oversaw the development of the residential offerings at Hudson Yards and 520 West 28th Street, a boutique condominium development designed by Zaha Hadid.

During his tenure, he has overseen a diverse portfolio of projects including MiMA, a 1.2 million square foot mixed-use development with residential, hotel and theater use; the redevelopment of the W Hotel Union Square; the 462-unit One Carnegie Hill hybrid development; the 312-unit The Tate Residences development; and the 478-unit The Caledonia development. He also serves on the board of the Union Square Partnership.

Mr. Gushée received his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia Business School and completed his undergraduate studies in Engineering at Boston University.

Aura Photography

Sophia invited Christina Lonsdale, founder of Radiant Human, to take photos of the auras of the speakers and guests. Christina's roving aura photography laboratory is among the 100 or so of these cameras in existence. Christina's work has been displayed at the New Yorkā€™s Whitney Art Museum.
